70 years ago today, history was made in Major League Baseball. On this day in 1947, Jackie Robinson made his Major League debut as the first baseman for the Brooklyn Dodgers. This might not seem like a big deal to some people, but it is a big deal. Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier, Jackie Robinson was and always be the first African-American to set foot on a Major League baseball field. The Brooklyn Dodgers saw his talent and gave him a chance when no other team would. Today is not only a day to remember what Jackie Robinson accomplished as a baseball player, but what he accomplished as a man. With sincerest thanks, thank you Jackie, for changing the game of baseball!
